Ornithological Observation Subject of Smart Spring Break Program

This year’s spring break theme, Ornithological Observation, and activities will keep your child learning while having fun.

Reading, reflective thinking, writing and fine arts provide educational opportunities to build skills in leadership, cooperation, communication, self-discipline and compassion. Chess Club, science experiments, math puzzles and our unique “Fit for Life” health and fitness enhancement are just some of the activities that will fill your child’s day.

Come explore the world of our fine feathered friends by:

  • building original bird houses
  • discovering owls as you dissect owl pellets
  • investigating and exploring migration patterns
  • designing an apparatus to protect a falling egg
  • and more!

Not only will your children learn all about these concepts and many more … they also will embark on a series of exciting field journeys, beginning with the Austin Nature & Science Center where they will see some live birds and other animals.

Next, we will get to be live participants in “Yuck! The Game Show” as we compete against our friends in a Nickelodeon-style game show.

And finally, we will take a trip to the movies for some rest and relaxation. Through these field trips, educational daily activities, an exciting classroom environment and a friendly, loving atmosphere, we will make this your child’s favorite spring break ever!

New this year, ask about our innovative Junior Counselors program, which is open to children ages 11-13 and teaches leadership, team-building and social skills through activities such as community service, planning activities and mentoring others!
