Training Standards

There’s a reason why Stepping Stone School teachers are considered experts in their abilities to care for and educate children. We believe that in order to help children grow and develop, we must be dedicated to our own continuing development and growth. To be the best teachers, we must also be lifelong learners.

So each of our educators makes a career commitment to professional education. Beginning with orientation, our individualized training program meets teachers at all levels of experience, and takes every opportunity to provide them with the information, skills and tools they need to put the latest educational research to work within their classrooms.

Each Stepping Stone School maintains a Professional Development Center, which contains an extensive curriculum library, training videos and a broad spectrum of developmental research findings by age group.

Professional training and continuing education are required of and provided for every educator, including:

  • Stepping Stone School’s Annual Fall Training Conference;
  • Stepping Stone University™;
  • Stepping Stone School High-Performance Leadership Program™;
  • Child Development Associate scholarships;
  • state and national professional trade organization conferences; and
  • principals’ symposiums.

It’s this devotion to professional development that helps our teachers stay engaged and enlightened, and helps make Stepping Stone School the best.
