Stepping Stone School’s summer camp program keeps your school-age child’s body and mind active all summer long! Our vast variety of weekly themes, field journeys, enrichments and other activities are all designed to continue cognitive and physical development – and to be so much fun, children will never know they’re still learning!
“Brain-Drain Busters”
Stepping Stone School’s summer program includes daily time for your child to engage in puzzles, math games, philanthropic activities, literature and journal-writing – all intended to increase retention, and continue building skills in literacy and math. We achieve a low-key balance of engaging and challenging children, while ensuring they’re ready for the coming school year.
Summer Themes
Why send your child to several different camps, when ours is like eleven camps in one? Our exclusive “Future Leaders and Inventors” weekly themes – which include topics like airplanes, endangered animals, oceanography, anatomy/physiology or magic – give children information, insights and inspiration through creative, scientific, musical, or artistic endeavors or innovations. These themes keep your child learning, while promoting strong character and values.
Field Journeys
Stepping Stone School’s field journeys are meant to offer opportunities for children to get out and about, try new activities, and exercise their bodies and minds. Typical field journeys include bowling, ‘hamster balls,’ ceramics studio, laser tag and rockwall climbing. Stimulating and fun, our field journeys tend to send your child home ready for a good night’s sleep!
Program Enrichments
Just like during the school year, Stepping Stone School supports its daily program with activities designed to expand children’s knowledge and experience in health and wellness, music, dance, martial arts and technology.
Some of these enrichments are available to all Stepping Stone School students as part of their camp curriculum, at no additional fee. For example, during the summer, our Sports & Fitness Camp is a free weekly enhancement, led by six-year professional baseball player Blake Williams – formerly of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Cincinnati Reds. Blake has a decade of experience in instructing youth sports, and will guide your child in the principles of teamwork and sportsmanship, while strengthening physical skills and self-confidence.
Other extracurricular classes – martial arts and dance – are available at many of our schools for a reasonable fee, paid directly to the enrichment program. Swimming lessons are also available during the summertime. Please ask the campus principal for information regarding a particular program.
Summer Passports
Children participating in our summer camp program receive our Summer Passport, where they can record favorite memories, achievements, field journeys and friendships! A new passport stamp is available for each week your child attends – he or she will surely want to collect them all!
Nutritious Hot Lunch
We are pleased to provide nutritious and healthy hot lunches to our school-age children during school holidays and breaks. This convenient service is included at no additional cost on days when our school-age children attend full days. Healthful snacks are given to children when they arrive after their school day.
